Today, BitNinja protects servers using IPv4 addresses. However, as the internet shifts towards broader adoption of IPv6, many hosting providers and system administrators are looking for solutions that can safeguard both IPv4 and IPv6 infrastructures.

You've asked, and we listened! Thanks to valuable feedback from our partners and customers, IPv6 support has been prioritized and is already underway.

Why Is IPv6 Support Important?

As more devices and networks transition to IPv6, server protection must evolve too. Without proper IPv6 handling, security gaps could emerge - leaving businesses exposed to new types of attacks.

By adding native IPv6 support, BitNinja will ensure that:

What to Expect

Behind the scenes, our engineering team is working hard to extend IPv6 handling into every critical part of the BitNinja platform. This includes:

• Seamless IPv6 incident detection and reporting.
• Support for IPv6 ranges in blocklists and allowlists.
• IPv6-aware updates to our agent and backend systems.

We're doing this carefully and step-by-step to maintain the reliability and protection you expect from BitNinja.

Initially, IPv6 support will be rolled out for incident detection and basic protection, followed by additional features in later stages.

When Will It Be Available?

The first phase of IPv6 support is expected to go live in the near future!
