CloudFest Europe 2023: Insights, Partnerships, and Fun
The BitNinja team had the privilege of attending CloudFest Europe 2023, the world's largest cloud festival held at Europa Park, Rust. The event was full of industry experts, tech enthusiasts, and cloud service providers, making it the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our latest developments and solutions, network with peers, and gain valuable insights into the latest cloud industry trends.
Our journey began on Sunday evening when we arrived at Rust, and on Monday, we set up our booth for the event. This Day 0 was WordPress Day, and Our CEO, George Egri, wasted no time and already attended a panel discussion about WordPress Security: How Do You Secure Half of the Internet? It was a great start to what turned out to be an eventful and insightful few days.
The following day of CloudFest marked the start of the festival, and we were well-prepared with plenty of swags, goodie bags, and giveaways. The day’s prize was a BitNinja Balance card worth 3,000 USD. During the day, we had the opportunity to meet and talk with several great partners, including Hosting.co.uk, Serverplan, Virtuozzo, Mise sure Orbite, and many more. We were thrilled to hear their positive feedback and how our solutions had helped them secure their workloads and protect against cyber-attacks.
Virtuozzo's CEO, Alex Fine, told us, "The protection of workloads of virtual machine of system containers is an important topic, so we were trying to find a partner to deliver a complete solution to our host and provider partners. ... So we found each other..."
According to Giuseppe Tanzili, CTO of ServerPlan, "The great idea of BitNinja is the centralized IP reputation and the way the CAPTCHA proxy is working."
Frederick Schiwek CEO of Hosting.co.uk said, "It was really hard to find one solution fits all before I met you."
And Arnaud Aubert CEO of Mise Sur Orbite praised our product, saying, "Lots of our customers suffer attacks, and we tried your product, and it's very good. It blocks large amounts of attacks every day so we can sleep."
Day two was even busier than the first, and we were excited to give away a Nintendo Switch to one lucky winner. We also had the chance to attend some really interesting discussions, for example, with Kelli Gray from CPanel about CPanel for cloud and secure Kubernetes hosting and a panel discussion about WordPress cybersecurity and liability with industry experts, including our CEO, George Egri.
The last day of the event was just as eventful as the previous days. The prize for the day was a huge LEGO set of a Ninja Temple, which was a big hit with the attendees. We also had the chance to speak with many more partners and potential customers about our products and services.
For example, we also had the pleasure of meeting Mike Schiwek, CEO of Peweo, and he told us about how he first learned about BitNinja when we sent him an incident report that he was attacking BitNinja-protected servers. From that point on, he knew he wanted to use BitNinja, and now he can sleep soundly, knowing that his servers are protected.
We also had the pleasure to speak with Wahab Khan about our long-term partnership with 5GN Networks and how excited he is about BitNinja for Windows solution. Speaking of Windows, we were happy to hear that loads of visitors, partners, and potential customers were excited about our new developments, such as the:
In fact, we had an opportunity to have a great talk with Jan Löffler, CTO of WebPros, about their new monitoring solution and how, with our integration, we can add a new layer of security.
Let's be honest, who doesn't enjoy a good beer fest, right Wahab?
While our business meetings were certainly important, it wasn't all serious work with our partners. In the evenings, we had the chance to let loose and have fun together, thanks to the fantastic concerts and connection parties. These events gave us the opportunity to get to know each other on a more personal level and strengthen our relationships even further.
Overall, it was an incredible few days at CloudFest Europe. We met so many great people and gained so much insight into the cloud industry and trends. We were sad to say goodbye, but it was not really a goodbye - it was more of a see you soon because CloudFest USA is coming soon, and we'll be there!
