We’re excited to announce the release of BitNinja-Reliable-Auto-Update (RAU) 1.0.2, a feature-packed update that gives you more control and flexibility over how BitNinja updates are managed on your servers. This latest version introduces new options for choosing update channels and fine-tunes how the auto-updater interacts with your system, making it easier than ever to stay on top of the latest security enhancements.
Choose Your Update Channel: Stable, Frequent, or Bleeding-edge
With RAU 1.0.2, you now have the power to decide how often you receive updates by selecting your preferred update channel. Here’s a breakdown of the options available:
Stable Channel: For those who prefer only the most tested and reliable updates, the Stable channel ensures that your system receives updates that have undergone thorough testing.
Frequent Channel: If you like staying more up-to-date with new features and fixes without compromising much on stability, the Frequent channel delivers updates on a more regular basis, giving you quicker access to improvements.
Bleeding-edge Channel (Beta): For the adventurous users and developers, the Bleeding-edge channel provides early access to the latest features and enhancements, allowing you to test cutting-edge improvements before they hit the Stable or Frequent channels.
This flexibility allows you to tailor your update preferences based on your specific needs, whether you prioritize stability or want the latest features right away.
NoUpdate Option: Postpone Updates with Ease
In some cases, you might want to delay updates for a set period of time. With RAU 1.0.2, we’ve introduced the 'NoUpdate' option, allowing you to temporarily pause automatic updates for up to 30 days.
Here’s how it works:
If you enable the "NoUpdate" option via the BitNinja dashboard, RAU will stop applying automatic updates for 30 days.
After the 30-day period ends, RAU will automatically switch back to the Frequent update channel and begin searching for updates every 6 hours, ensuring your server remains secure without needing manual intervention.
This feature is ideal for those managing time-sensitive environments or performing critical maintenance, allowing you to delay updates without missing important patches down the line.
How to Customize Your Update Settings in the BitNinja Console
You can easily manage your update channel preferences directly from the BitNinja Console. Follow these steps to customize the settings for each server:
Navigate to the Server section of the BitNinja Console.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find a list of your servers.
For each server, you’ll see the option to individually select and customize your update channel—whether it’s Stable, Frequent, or Bleeding-edge.
You can also enable the "NoUpdate" option here if you wish to pause updates for up to 30 days.
Why BitNinja-Reliable-Auto-Update Matters
RAU ensures that your server stays secure with the latest BitNinja features and fixes, reducing the risks posed by outdated software. This latest version gives you more control over when you apply updates, ensuring your server stays up-to-date without the worry of unexpected changes. Whether you’re running mission-critical applications, testing new features, or customizing how often you update your system, RAU 1.0.2 gives you the tool to do so in a simple, flexible way.
Important Note for VPS Free Servers: VPS free servers will automatically be placed in the Bleeding-edge update channel, meaning they will receive updates earlier and more frequently. However, users have full control to switch to a different channel (such as Stable or Frequent) via the BitNinja dashboard if they prefer a more stable update schedule.
