BitNinja 3.12.4: MalwarScan Optimization and WAF Configuration Improvements

The latest BitNinja 3.12.4 release introduces a series of updates that improve efficiency and user experience across several modules. Enhancements focus on malware scanning accuracy, better configuration flexibility, and smoother package updates. These adjustments aim to reduce false positives, simplify configurations, and improve system reliability.

BitNinja 3.12.4

Malware Detection:

We’ve updated the malware scanner to exclude mail files from future scans. This helps to improve scanning performance by eliminating irrelevant files from the malware check process.

ConfigParser:

Resolved a variable parsing issue where $VH_NAME was not being correctly resolved. This change ensures configurations relying on this variable now work as intended, enhancing reliability.

DataProvider:

Enhanced service filtering by ensuring the ihttpd service is correctly detected and managed. This adjustment improves monitoring accuracy in systems running that service.

Reliable Auto Update 1.0.6:

Fixed a problem that caused update packages to fail when configuration files changed. This update ensures developers and users can rely on seamless, automated updates even when local changes are present.

We’ve also added a new CLI command to update the BitNinja GPG key, simplifying key management and maintaining secure package validation.

Process Analysis 1.0.21:

Optimized the start-stop mechanism for better performance and lower resource usage during process analysis tasks.

WAF Pro 1.0.5:

We've simplified the configuration process. Redirection types are now handled directly, making it easier to deploy and maintain WAF settings without additional cloud configuration entries.

Additionally, the 421 Misredirect error has been fixed, eliminating confusion during request handling.

Improved handling of log rotation ensures that logs are maintained correctly without affecting performance or visibility.
