What’s the Issue?
Some users running Imunify on Plesk servers with Ubuntu 24.04 may have encountered errors during recent updates:
Err:27 https://download.imunify360.com/ubuntu/24.04/… InRelease
The following signatures were invalid: … (untrusted public key algorithm: dsa1024)
Turns out the updates are signed with an older DSA1024 key and Ubuntu 24.04, understandably strict about cryptography, isn’t having it.
Let’s be real, things slip through the cracks. Cryptographic standards evolve, and if you’re juggling legacy systems, it’s easy to miss that one key you should’ve rotated years ago.
Plesk’s support team even released a workaround to help users get back on track. It works, but having to patch your patching process? That’s not ideal.
Updates Shouldn’t Need Workarounds. That’s why at BitNinja, we take a different approach.
This Doesn’t Happen With BitNinja
Why? Because we’ve been using strong, modern keys that meet all current cryptographic standards. Our agents update cleanly, no warnings, no broken trust, no headaches.
Security is More Than a Feature - It’s a Mindset
At BitNinja, we design everything (from deployment to updates) with reliability, modern standards, and real-world sysadmin sanity in mind.
